I am a young film and television director and writer.
Before leaving University, I was already determined to carve a career in the film and television industry. The shorts I made while at uni have been shown at film festivals, broadcasted on channels such as ITV2, been featured in advertising press and have won awards such as the Kodak Student Commercials awards. Before leaving university I was picked up by promo and commercials production company Draw Pictures, directing videos for popular and underground artists alike. Most recently I was commissioned along with seven other writers to write a monologue for the 'Mangina Monologues' which opened February at the Soho Theatre. The monologues discussed the sexual identities of Black British men. The show opened to much acclaim and will continue its run later this year. The conflicting and contradictory nature of people excite me and I have always had a desire to write and direct narratives that explore this. I plan to continue going from strength to strength eager to challenge my own ability and also the boundaries of TV and film, to create works that not only push the popular entertainment form, but that I can also be proud of.
